CHEMICAL FERTILISERS

UREA

  • N-rich is Ballance's own urea blend, either made right here in NewZealand at the ammonia-urea manufacturing plant in Kapuni, or sourced from quality suppliers overseas. Regardless of its source, n-rich urea comprises hard, evenly sized, smooth granules for easy spreading.

  • Nitrogen is a key driver of plant growth, and when used strategically and responsibly, it can be a very effective tool for enhancing farm productivity. N-rich urea can be used to promote growth in order to fill in gaps in feed supply. It also has a role to play in hill country, especially on sunny slopes where the clover content is low - applying n-rich can boost grass growth by increasing the soil N content. N-rich urea is also suitable for supplying the N requirements of a wide range of horticultural and arable crops.

  • N-rich ammo is a good choice if soil sulphate sulphur levels are low, for example, if the land has suffered from heavy rain. The sulphur in n-rich ammo will help support the growth of grass species and clovers, and enable them to respond better to the nitrogen.

NPK 13.13.21 Blend

  • NPK fertilizer is a complex fertilizer comprised primarily of the three primary nutrients required for healthy plant growth.

  • The three most important nutrients, without any one of which plants could not survive, are referred to as the primary macronutrients: Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), and Potassium (K).

  • Soils often lack these nutrients, either naturally, or as a result of over cultivation or other environmental factors. In cases where soils are lacking, nutrients must be put back into the soil in order to create the ideal environment for optimal plant growth.

SINGLE SUPERPHOSPHATE
(SUPERTEN)

  • Superten is a single superphosphate, the fertiliser

traditionally regarded as having most benefited New
Zealand agriculture. Ballance Superten is made from
premium rock from North Africa. This is imported to
Ballance's three manufacturing sites, where it is finely
ground and treated with sulphuric acid before being
granulated, cured and distributed.

  • The Superten range of products has been designed

specifically for the farmer looking for high performance and
value for money. The P in Superten is readily soluble in the
soil environment, so is rapidly available to meet plant
nutrient needs. Superten also supplies sulphur (S) and
calcium (Ca), and can be blended with potassium (K) to
meet individual requirements.

TRIPLE
SUPERPHOSPHATE

  • Ballance offers a full range of phosphate fertilisers suitable for a wide variety

of situations. Phosphate is a major plant nutrient and has traditionally been
regarded as one of the key growth-limiting nutrients in New Zealand farm
soils. Careless use of phosphate fertilisers can have negative environmental
consequences. Ballance recommends that users follow the guidelines in the
Code of Practice for Fertiliser Use. Special care should be taken to ensure that
phosphate fertilisers do not enter vulnerable ecosystems such as waterways.
Ballance's list of phosphate fertilisers includes its key products Superten,
Pasturezeal G2, Pasturemag and Cropzeal. The company also has a strategic
alliance with Hatuma Lime, which allows for nationwide manufacture and
distribution of dicalcic phosphate products. The following products are also
available from Ballance. This list is offered for guidance only. For specific
advice on the best phosphate option for your farming situation, contact your
local Ballance Field consultant.

MOP
(MURIATE OF POTASH)

  • Ballance offers a full range of potassium fertilisers suitable for a wide

variety of situations. Potassium is a major plant nutrient and can be taken
up in large amounts by some crops. Care must be taken when using
potassium fertilisers to ensure that soil levels of potassium do not become
excessively high. This is particularly so when fertilisers are applied to land
that is also receiving effluent.

  • Ballance's list of potassium fertilisers includes blends of its key products

Superten, Pasturezeal G2, Pasturemag, Sulphur gain and serpentine super.
The following products are also available from Ballance. This list is offered
for guidance only. For specific advice on the best potassium option for your
farming situation, contact your local Ballance Field consultant.

Key Points
• A slow release Nitrogen
• Reduces Volatilisation and leaching
• Increases soil carbon levels for energy, water and nutrient holding capacity
• UV Stable hence delays degradation of urea
• Greater Biological activity in the soil, Environmentally friendly, less urea
usage for same yield
Improved Soil Health reduces input costs through efficiency.
Activated Response
